Concrete and Asphalt, Done the Straight Way.
Ostermiller Construction is a Shepherd-based crew working concrete and
asphalt across Billings and the Yellowstone Valley. On the concrete side
we pour driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps and slabs — and when a slab is
cracked, heaved or past saving, we tear it out and pour it new instead of
dressing up a failure. On the asphalt side we pave, patch, crack-seal,
seal-coat and stripe, so the whole property runs through one number.
We do not patch over failed concrete or jack sunken slabs. Cracked, heaved or spalled flatwork gets torn out, hauled off, and poured new — done once, done right.

We're based in Shepherd, just outside Billings, and we work the Yellowstone Valley: Billings and the Heights, Laurel, Lockwood, Shepherd, Huntley and Columbus, plus out to Hardin, Roundup and Red Lodge. If you're around Billings and not sure you're in range, call — the answer is usually yes.
What services do you offer?
Two trades under one roof. Concrete: removal and replacement of failed slabs, plus new driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps and pads. Asphalt: paving and repair, hot-applied crack sealing, seal coating, and parking lot striping. If it's the hard surface around your home or business, it's probably our work.
Do you really handle both concrete and asphalt?
Yes, and it's a practical advantage — most properties are a mix of both. One outfit can pour the concrete apron and pave the asphalt drive, or patch a parking lot and replace the broken sidewalk in front of it. One quote, one schedule, one number to call.
Do you do residential or commercial work?
Both. A lot of our schedule is residential — driveways, patios, walks — because those jobs quote fast and turn around fast. On the commercial side we pave, repair, seal and stripe parking lots for businesses around the valley. Same crew, same standard either way.
How do estimates work?
They're free, and they happen at the job, not over the phone. Concrete and asphalt prices live in details you can't see from a phone call — base condition, access, tear-out, drainage — so we come look at the actual job, then hand you a written number that holds unless the scope changes.
Do you repair concrete, or just replace it?
Depends on the material, and we'll tell you straight. Concrete: we don't jack or level sunken slabs — when a slab is past saving, we rip it out and replace it right. Asphalt is the opposite story: it's built to be maintained, so we patch, crack seal and seal coat surfaces that still have life in them, and repave when they don't.
When is the best time to schedule work?
Montana sets the calendar. Concrete pours and hot-mix paving want warm weather, so the working season runs roughly late spring into early fall — and it books up. Crack sealing fits best in spring and fall. If you're planning work, call early; the shortest path to a good slot is an early estimate.
